Search Queries
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Camden County Criminal History does not retain or create its own log of the terms typed into those partner search forms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends a direct message, the communication may be kept long enough to respond and maintain necessary records. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless the sender authorizes disclosure or a valid legal duty requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal server and analytics functions can record technical details when a page loads, including:
- Page-view dates, times, and approximate visit duration
- Device category and operating system
- Browser type and version
- Internet Protocol address
- Pages requested during the session
- A referring site, when one is reported
Cookies and Analytics

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Camden County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of individual criminal records. It publishes access information for Camden Sheriff, Camden County Clerk, the SBI Criminal Information and Identification Section, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Government disclosure is governed by laws such as the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. Chapter 132, G.S. 132-1.4 for criminal-investigation information, and Article 27A of Chapter 14 for registry publication. This private site is not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a partner tool is handled under that company's privacy terms, retention schedule, and sharing rules rather than this policy. Camden County Criminal History cannot direct those practices. A visitor should review the provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Camden County offices, North Carolina courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy controls the new visit. Its practices should be reviewed before personal information is supplied.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs on provider systems and remains subject to their terms.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold by Camden County Criminal History. Limited data may be available to:
- A search partner processing a query the visitor submits

How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information under our control. No internet transmission, connected service, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure, so this policy does not promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified request concerning information submitted by a minor will be evaluated and the information removed where appropriate.
Your Data Rights
Privacy and consumer-protection rights vary by residence and applicable law. The North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132 of the General Statutes, governs qualifying records held by public agencies; it does not turn visitor information held by this private site into a county public record. Subject to applicable law and verification, a user may:
